Nathan Abrams, Professor in Film and lead director for theÌý at ¶º±ÆÖ±²¥ has co-authored a new book published by Faber & Faber on the legendary American filmmaker, Stanley Kubrick.
To mark the book’s publication, as well as the 25th anniversary of the director’s death, Nathan Abrams will be joined by Gordon Stainforth, assistant editor and Adam Unger, second assistant editor on one of Kubrick’s most well-known films The Shining at an event at Pontio, ¶º±ÆÖ±²¥â€™s Arts and Innovation Centre on Thursday, 7 March at 7pm. The book launch will be followed by a screening of The Shining (Extended Version).
The enigmatic and elusive filmmaker Stanley Kubrick has not been treated to a full-length biography in over twenty years. Kubrick: An OdysseyÌýby Nathan Abrams and his co-author Robert P. Kolker fills that gap. It is based on access to the latest research, especially into his archive at the University of the Arts London, and other papers, as well as new interviews with family members and those who worked with him. It offers comprehensive and in-depth coverage of Kubrick’s personal, private, public, and working life.
