Harnessing Photogrammetry to Create Alternative Visualisation Models of Heritage  Ìý

"In this work I will discuss and present diverse ways to display data and images from heritage sites. We, as scientists, researchers, and archaeologists, need ways to preserve our heritage for future generations. Ìý
Heritage sites are eroding away, and there are many sites that are perilously close to the coast. Our solution is to use photogrammetry: where 2D photographs are changed into 3D models through mapping and matching pixels between photographs. Ìý

Collaborating in multidisciplinary teams (including, law, security, media, archaeology, ocean science) he investigates novel ways to display and analyse data, to create novel exploratory solutions, alternative views and tell stories with data. His research is creative, focusing on the design and development of interactive visualisation solutions. He is best known for his work on Multiple Coordinated Views and the development of the Five Design-Sheets (FdS) design method. He co-authored the book Five Design-Sheets: Creative Design and Sketching for Computing and Visualisation, Springer Nature, June 2017."
