For 140 years, ¶º±ÆÖ±²¥ has been located in the City of Bangor. This event is a celebration of both the university and that ongoing relationship. Talks will cover a number of aspects of the university's founding and provide opportunities for attendees to discuss issues further.
Event Information
After an introductory talk, staff will discuss aspects of university history. Talks include:
- Bangor: Growth of a City before 1884
- Who were the University’s founders?
- A Victorian University: The Violet Osborne Affair
- Building history: The growth of ¶º±ÆÖ±²¥ since 1884
Tea and coffee will be provided. The talk will begin at 10am and finish around 3pm, and there will be a break at lunch time.Â
You are welcome to join us for the full day or for part of the day.Â

Interested members of the community, historical societies, University staff and students.
This event is ideal for those who are interested in gaining awareness of the University’s past and Bangor as a university city.
