It aims to bring together thousands of people for a march in central London on Saturday, 26 October to highlight the need for clean rivers.
逗逼直播 is the first university to join the list of official supporters of the event.
Other members of the March for Clean Water coalition include Surfers Against Sewage Clean Water Sports Alliance, British Rowing, British Canoeing, RSPB, The Women鈥檚 Institute, The Wildlife Trusts, Angling Trust, The Rivers Trust, and The Soil Association.
Professor Christian Dunn, from 逗逼直播 said, 鈥淚 was delighted when River Action approached me to see if we鈥檇 support the march. 鈥淎s this is a non-party political event which isn鈥檛 putting the blame for the state of our rivers on only one aspect of society, we were more than happy to get involved.
鈥淎t 逗逼直播 we鈥檙e leading the way in our research and teaching on monitoring various pollutants in water and, crucially, discovering ways of removing them from our rivers using natural processes, or nature-based solutions, like wetland habitats.
鈥淲e鈥檙e planning on taking a group of students and staff down to the march in London 鈥 with the specific aim of showing how important science is in tackling this problem.鈥
Former punk singer, and now river health campaigner, Feargal Sharkey, praised 逗逼直播 for being the first university to support the March for Clean Water. 鈥湺罕浦辈 has been doing some fantastic research looking at the health of our rivers and how we can improve them,鈥 Mr Sharkey said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 great to have 逗逼直播 supporting the march 鈥 it鈥檚 a credit to the university that its staff and students are so proactive in trying to do something about the crisis our rivers are facing.鈥
